IMPORTANT BULLETIN!

Message from Carl A. Anderson

At the State Deputies Meeting in June 2008, our Supreme Knight, Carl Anderson committed the Knights of Columbus to carry out the message of the Holy Father and to bring more members into our Order through a new membership campaign called "Come Follow Me."

Below you will find two videos of Carl Anderson's address to the State Deputies outlining this new membership campaign. You may view the address in its entirety or in the 14-minute condensed version.

Our Founding Father

Father Michael J. McGivney Our Founder, Father Michael J. McGivney chose the name "Knights of Columbus" because, as a Catholic Order, he felt we should relate to Christopher Columbus, the Catholic discoverer of America. "Columbus" would emphasize that it
was Catholics who discovered the North American continent. At the same time "Knights" would signify that the membership embodied noble ideals of spirituality and service to church, country, and our fellowmen.

About Our Council
St. Clare Council was founded the 28th of February 2001 through the efforts of Ed Tweed and Father Colin Macdonald. It is named after St. Clare, who was the Fonder of the order of nuns know as "Poor Clare". The St. Clare order was founded with the assistance of St. Francis of Assisi. The St. Clare Council works closely with the St. Clare Parish in the City of Roseville and Antelope, providing volunteer services to the parish and various charities throughout the community.
